COMPANY HISTORY

DEVELOPMENT OF A UNIQUE BUSINESS MODEL

1978 – 2000

As early as 1980, Alpes Usinage (at that time DECOPREM) purchased the first NC- lathes in the Arve-Valley, investing in advanced technologies that enabled reliability, precision and cost control. The use of high-tech machining to increase accuracy and flexibility has been a constant concern of the management and a basis for success.

At the same time, the management is setting up an original manufacturing organisation that minimises rework, based on autonomous, responsible production islands and an advanced traceability system. Thus Alpes Usinage optimises agility, speed, precision, quality and costs.

The company continues to grow. Employees are hired and the buildings are expanded to supply the historical customers in the household appliances, bicycles and rotary machinery sectors. The company’s activity is extended to packaging machines and hydraulics. In 1998, Alpes Usinage strengthens its quality control and logistics functions by acquiring DS 74.
